"How Can I Find the Lowest Gas Prices?"

Finding the lowest gas prices used to mean driving through town until you found the best deal.

With the expansion of the Internet, that is no longer the case. Finding the best gas prices is no longer difficult as it once was, especially with the handy map listed below.

To use this map, simply click and drag the map to find your location or to investigate trends throughout the country. If you want to find out where to find the lowest gas prices in your area, type in your city, state, or zip code.

Tips for Finding the Cheapest Gas in Town

  1. If you know you will need gas, check the above map or links to help you locate the cheapest gas in your area.
  2. Compare the prices and when they were last updated. Visit the cheapest gas station that was most recently updated.
  3. Try to pick a gas station that is en route to your destination. Don't go too far out of your way to save 3 cents/gallon.
  4. Update the gas prices at various gas stations if they have changed at GasBuddy.com. Those changes will automatically be reflected in the above map.
  5. If you find cheaper gas en route or right across the street, stop there and gas up. Always deny the more expensive gas stations as this forces them to compete with each other. Remember, gas prices are partially set based on what the public is willing to pay, so be willing to pay less!
  6. If it turns out you didn't find the cheapest gas prices in town, don't fret. You made a valiant effort, and you were able to save money on gas even if it wasn't the best price in town.
